A lot has happened at the Play for All Abilities Park in Round Rock! The park has more than doubled in size, and features 3 addition themed play areas and the 4 current play areas have been expanded.

The park first opened in 2012 with a community celebration.

After 5 years of planning and creating the park, the Central Texas Children of all abilities truly had a one-of-a-kind park where children could play side by side without any restrictions.

The original park was made possible from help across the Round Rock community. The city built this 1.3 million dollar park for only $600,000 with the help of grants, donations, sponsorships from local businesses and Play for All Foundation, a non-profit.

People from across the nation and all over Texas come to visit this park. Throughout the year, children are bussed in from surrounding communities to enjoy the park.

So where is the park located? The park is located at 151 North A.W. Grimes Blvd and the entrance is located under the railroad bridge.

The park experiences generous hours and is open everyday from 6 a.m. to midnight. Though do be careful at night as the playground and parking lot are not lit.

Located at 3300 Palm Valley Blvd., Old Settlers Park offers special events, cricket, disc golf, fishing, festival area, football, picnic areas, playgrounds, RC planes, soccer, tennis, trails, volleyball and more.

The Sports Capital of Texas tourism campaign reserves the park for official sporting tournaments including baseball, softball, soccer, cricket and cross country tournaments that hosts over 100 teams.

In fact, these sporting leagues are important to the overall economic development program for Round Rock. These tournaments held in the park system draws teams from out of town and they provide a significant economic benefit to the Round Rock community.

Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park is the city’s crown jewel of the park system and it’s a well known sporting destination for amateur and youth leagues. The fun doesn’t stop there for the young ones, as there are plenty of playgrounds around the park for a total of 7 playgrounds, currently. Two playgrounds are located next to the Lakeview and Virg Rabb pavilions.

The park sits on a massive 645 acres which provides plenty of space for multiple recreational pursuits including a 20-field baseball complex, a 5-field softball complex, soccer fields and more.

It’s even a great place to gather and barbecue or play a casual game of horseshoes.

If you’re in the mood for a competitive game of volleyball, the park has two sand volleyball courts which are located near The Memorial Tree Groves and Bright Lake.
